Bees sweating on Carew fitness

Fri 02 May, 03:00 PM

Barnet midfielder Ashley Carew is a doubt for the club's last game against Rotherham as the regular League Two season comes to a close. The 22-year-old was forced off in last Saturday's 2-1 victory over Stockport with a thigh injury and is hoping to shake off the problem in time for the mid-table clash.

Jordan Parkes came on for Carew at the weekend and is the leading candidate to start in his absence.

Manager Paul Fairclough has no other fresh injury of suspension concerns as the Bees hope to climb above the Millers with a victory.

Fairclough is short on defensive options again as Sagi Burton misses out due to his knee operation, captain Ismail Yakubu has a groin injury and Joe Devera has a hamstring problem.

Goalkeeper Rob Beckwith also has a hamstring injury, while midfielder Neal Bishop appears to have played his last game for the club as he remains sidelined with a knee problem and has been placed on the transfer list after turning down a new contract at Underhill.
