A last minute try from Alan MacDonald helped Edinburgh secure a famous 19-18 victory over the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

The result means that the Ospreys have still not clinched their place in next season's Heineken Cup.

Six penalties from James Hook had looked to have won the game before McDonald's late effort.

Elsewhere, Connacht's chances of qualifying for next season's Heineken Cup evaporated at the Sportsground as the Cardiff Blues ran five tries past them in a comprehensive 39-11 win.
