Exeter boss Paul Tisdale admitted it had been "a long hard slog" after their 1-0 win at Rotherham earned them a second successive promotion.
Richard Logan's second-half header was enough to earn the Grecians a place in League One next term, although Stuart Fleetwood missed the opportunity to make it a more comfortable afternoon, but he saw his spot-kick saved by Andy Warrington.
"The last 20 minutes were torture actually," Tisdale said. "We did it the hard way by missing a penalty when we could have made it safe.
"But, we got our goal and and we won and we knew if we won we were up no matter what happened anywhere else.
"It's a great achievement for us, back to back promotions and we were in Division one. It's going to be tough though next season, but we'll enjoy our promotion before we discuss next season."

This is quite unbelievable. Considering no real signings were made, other than a few loans, City getting promotion is an amazing effort. Hats off to Tisdale and all concerned! 3 in a row?!!
Tisdale is a genius! Well done to the whole team, you made us proud!
