Hull defender Michael Turner is relishing the prospect of testing himself against John Carew in the trip to Aston Villa on Monday night.

The 25-year-old has excelled in the heart of the Tigers' defence this season and, after dealing with Liverpool's Fernando Torres last week, is ready for a whole different challenge in powerful frontman Carew.

He told the club's official website: "This is where I have always wanted to be. You know you're going to have a big test every week, whether it's Torres, Carew or anybody else.

"They're different types of players, but they all have great attributes and you just have to deal with that.

"Carew is a big, strong player and he has a number of players who can run off him as well. It will be tough, but hopefully we can deal with him."
