We'll get it Wright next season

Mon 02 Jun, 01:00 PM

David Wright believes Ipswich's disappointment at missing out on the Championship play-offs will ensure a successful campaign next term.Jim Magilton's side missed out on a place in the top six by just a single point but Wright insists that the Tractor Boys will be a force to be reckoned with come August.

He told the club's official website: "The first two weeks or so after we finished our season were very hard.

"We played 46 games and personally it felt like it was all for nothing as we didn't get where we wanted to be.

"It was just one point shy but it was hard to take.

"The disappointment can help us next season though. We have unfinished business and can use it as a tool to drive us on to where we want to be."

  2. I don´t think ronaldo is as good as the people say. u got better players in united.also r madrid has better ones than him.

  3. Man U cant have Ronaldo and Robinho on the same boat that would be so impossible! From Mhlekazi

  4. C'mon, can no-one else see the coincidence of all this transfer talk of Ronaldo.... Its no coincidence that he's having negotiations at MU at the moment to renew his contract and get more money. Its simply all hot air, to make MU offer him loads of money to stay at MU. Without all this talk, he probably wouldn't be able to demand as much money from the club.

At the end of the day its simple greed. Sadly, its a disease of epidemic proportions within the Premier League.

I mean, does anyone really need to be paid £130,000 a week? (nearly £7m a year for those who were wondering).

And the end result is season tickets which are getting out of reach to many fans....

  5. I cannot believe it when people go on about a great player not performing in the big games.

Come on, lets face it, Man U V Chelsea. Its a stalemate. No big names shine in a game like that.

Name me one player in recent history that "performs" in the big games.

Henry got criticized, as does Ronaldo. So does Drogba, and Rooney etc etc.

Look at all the finals with two big teams. Usually its someone unexpected who scores , for instance a defender, and the score is usually a low scoring match.

This is the modern game now. It is more important not to lose than to win.
In this climate, great players cannot shine.

  6. I wish ronaldo would say he wants to leave and the owners of man United make him sit in the stands for the remainder of his contract
it seems to me that contracts players sign are not worth the paper they are written on I just wish Arsenal has the Balls to do the same since when was barcelona a quiet backwater??? well hleb got an answer? no I dont suppose you do

  7. Well I respect Ronaldo for the stance he has taken, at least he doesn't say he's gonna stay and then leave anyway at least he is honest and who can blame he for considering Real Madrid? If I was Portuguese I would probably leave to, what good reason has he got for staying? Coz he obviously doesn't love United, Henry loved Arsenal and still left!

  9. Obviously Ronaldo would leave Man.Utd-if not this season,at the end of the next one! He has not really shown that he wants to stal with his club, has not really rubbished the rumours and keeps on insisiting 'nobody knows the future'...! Nobody knows the future? Why do we have meteorologists, seismologists and weather forcasters?
It would just take an average performance next season(its never going to be easy to live up to the expectation of scoring another overhaul round of 42 goals,in fact, thats next to impossible!)!!!!

  10. surely Barca are more important than spurs?

    From maniac.spence@..., on Mon 2 Jun 1:49PM
  11. real madrid should go for kaka or messi as these are both better players than ronaldo since he just can't play a decent game in the big games. he's there to batter the likes of wigan and derby but apart from his goal in the CL final he didn't play well at all again. plus messi and kaka would probably be cheaper too.

From Jimmy, on Mon 2 Jun 1:49PM
  12. Ronaldo cannot go....i will contribute 20 pounds towards his salary so that he can get 200000 per week and he stays!

  13. I think Wayne Rooney would play better with Ronaldo out of the team and swapping Robinho for Ronaldo = good bit of business coz Ronaldo is top of the world right now and there's only one direction he can now go and a player like Robinho would give United a better balance. And for the Record Christiano Ronaldo at the top of his game isn't as good as a Kaka or Messi at the top of theirs. Ronaldo will win world player of year simply because his rivals didn't perform.
P.S. UNITED NEED A STRIKER!!!!! DAVID VIIIIIIIIILA!!!!!! (very wishful thinking)
