Striker Matt Green admits his decision to quit Cardiff and join Blue Square Premier outfit Torquay was motivated by money. The 21-year-old scored 10 goals while on loan at Oxford last season and the U's had been keen to tie up a permanent deal for him.
However, Green snubbed a move to Oxford in a favour of a switch to Torquay.
"I am going to be financially better off down here," Green told BBC Oxford.
"I don't want anyone to feel hard done by. The fans at Oxford were the best I've played for in my career."
