Bristol City are set to hold talks with Chris Weale, who has yet to sign a new contract, about the goalkeeper's future at Ashton Gate.Weale is out of contract in the summer but has been offered a new deal by the Championship play-off finalists.

The 26-year-old will meet with Robins manager Gary Johnson before deciding whether to sign.

"We have offered Chris a new contract and he is considering it," Johnson told the Evening Post. "But before he does anything, we need to sit down and discuss what he wants at this stage of his career.

"He is a very talented goalkeeper and is now 26. He will probably feel he needs to be playing every week.

"We will talk about it, see how he feels about being number two to (Adriano) Basso and then decide what is best for him."
