Paul Duffen has warned Hull fans they will have to be patient in their wait for a new signing after Portsmouth's David Nugent was linked. The Tigers have been linked with a host of players since winning promotion to the Premier League two weekends ago, with Nugent the latest name reported to be on their list of targets.
The England international has failed to hold down a first-team place at Fratton Park since joining from Preston last summer and Harry Redknapp is willing to let the 23-year-old leave.
Nugent will be pushed further down the Pompey pecking order if Redknapp manages to land Peter Crouch from Liverpool and may be keen on a move to East Yorkshire if Phil Brown can promise him regular first-team football at the KC Stadium.
However Duffen does not expect any business to be completed in the near future.
"We'll be patient in what we do and we have a list of targets that we'll be looking at," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"It's a long process and not one that will happen overnight."
Meanwhile City have announced they will suspend the sale of season ticket sales when their ticket office closes on Monday as they close in on a complete sell-out.
