Hull manager Phil Brown will maintain a high profile next season, according to his assistant Brian Horton.
Brown attracted some criticism in the last campaign with his upfront approach but against the odds he kept the club in the top flight.
Horton told the Manchester Evening News: "I think he has been great for the Premiership.
"He is a character who might get under the skin of some people with his comments but he is only speaking his mind. There is nothing wrong with that.
"Earlier in the season Phil asked me if he should adopt a low profile. I told him to forget it.
"By being what he is, Phil has helped put Hull on the map. I told him bad publicity is infinitely preferable to no publicity."

Jury's out on his managerial ability. First half of the season amazing, second half total rubbish, the worst I have ever seen and your points prove it. From champions league to to relegation. Just because he is a peacock doesn't make him an idiot, he is an idiot. You deserved to stay up on the first half of the season alone so well done. The tigers are like Pompey supporters so well done. The fans will keep the team up even if the manager does need to tone down his performing. Also if the players deserved a bollocking all he did was humiliate them and embarresed himself. Not professional and to much pandering to the cameras.
brown is slowly making hull city despised the nation-wide.
like most city fans we want a manager who mansges not a person who show boats and makes a fool of himself get off your ego trip and give the hard working fans what they pay for a decent team not a team of brown noses and crocks if you think you are the bees knees of a manager let us the fans see what you are made of or in other words put up or shut up and go
More Luck than judgement! Nobody is asking him to takde a backseat! He is just as good as most managers in the EPL and better than some! It just that viewing from afar one had the idea thathe was more important than the players/team! That cannot be right! After all he did say that nobody is bigger than the team! That applies to him just as much as to anyone else! OR?
