Crewe Alexandra's first-team coach Steve Holland believes new signing Joel Grant can shine in League One for the Railwaymen.The 20-year-old winger played a key role in helping Aldershot clinch promotion back into the Football League last season, and Holland is delighted to have him on board.

"Joel is a little bit different from the other two signings because he hasn't done it at this level before," Holland said.

"I'm sure Joel has the ability to succeed in League One but he may need a bit of time to find his feet because he is still young.

"We will need a bit of patience with him but he is a player who excites me and I'm sure he will excite the fans because he is a player who can beat his opposite number.

"Joel will gives us something different. He is quick and can go past defenders and I think he will give us something different from wide areas. He can use both feet and can also take a goal."
