Carlisle United owner Fred Story insists he does not stand to gain from any player sales this summer after Joe Garner was linked with a move.Story spoke out after reports linked striker Garner with a switch to Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The owner reiterated that all funds from the sale of Keiren Westwood to Coventry and any future transfers would come directly to the club and not be taken out by him or anyone else within the club while he is at the helm.
He told the club's official website: "I know a lot of our supporters have been dismayed by the recent speculation about the sale of Joe Garner.
"It was extremely unfortunate that news of Nottingham Forest's inquiry about Joe, which was at a very early stage, came out at the Nottingham Forest end for whatever reason.
"If Joe, or any other player, was to leave Carlisle, I can assure fans that the money received will remain in the club to be spent in the best way. No part of any transfer fee received by Carlisle will go to me."
