Schofield: Change will do me good

Wed 02 Jul, 06:30 PM

New signing Danny Schofield is looking forward to a fresh challenge at Yeovil after spending nine years at League One rivals Huddersfield. The winger signed for the Terriers at the age of 18 and had spent his entire Football League career on their books, but after making the switch down to Somerset he is determined to make an impression.

"It was time for a change and I got a great opportunity to come and play for Yeovil Town," he told the club's official website.

"The chance came up at that stage in my career where travelling and moving around was more suitable for me. When you are younger I don't think you want to really move about, but at 28 it's a great opportunity and a great challenge.

"I like to get on the ball and pass it about. My strengths are more attacking than being defensive so I'm hoping to score a few goals myself and create opportunities for the team.

"The main aim is to get my head down in pre-season, get as fit as possible, impress in the friendlies and get in the first team for the opening game against Walsall."
