Rangers manager Walter Smith is hoping to sort out the futures of David Weir and Christian Dailly next week.
The two defenders have yet to return for pre-season training after being granted more time to recover from last term.
Weir played 68 matches for club and country while Dailly's season was extended when he travelled to Czech Republic with Scotland in May.
They have been offered new deals and Smith does not expect there to be any problems when talks resume.
"The older boys have a little bit of extra dispensation on when to return from the close season," Smith told the club's official website.
"Because of that we haven't had a chance to sit down and do things properly yet so Davie Weir and Christian Dailly will get that next week when they return to training."
Negotiations are also continuing with Fulham as Smith looks to complete the signing of midfielder Steven Davis.
The Northern Ireland international spent six months on loan at Ibrox last season and Smith wants to make the move permanent.
He said: "We have been in discussions with Fulham and that's where the situation rests at the present moment.
"We have expressed an interest in taking Steven and hopefully there will be ongoing talks within the next few weeks."
