Le Tallec Leaves Liverpool

Wed 02 Jul, 10:09 AM

Liverpool forward Anthony Le Tallec has completed a permanent transfer to Le Mans.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Stade Leon-Bollee after failing to catch the eye of Reds manager Rafa Benitez.

Le Tallec was a signing of former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier when moving from Le Havre in 2003.

The 23-year-old was offered opportunities to impress in Benitez's first season at Anfield in 2004/05, particularly in Liverpool's successful UEFA Champions League campaign.

However, Benitez failed to view Le Tallec as part of his long-term plans and the former France Under 21 international has now left Merseyside.

  1. Too many players going on loan and doing nothing for the club. Its stupid to have so many players but contributing in no way for the club. Even the reserves got so many good players, viz Pacheco, etc. Lets see how they do in the future. I just hope they do not end up like Le tallec. It would be a waste of money n time for the club

  4. He was never going to break into the first team with the likes of Torres at Anfield. Another Houllier flop bites the dust!!
