Sheffield United have completed a double swoop to bring Sun Jihai and Greg Halford to Bramall Lane.
Utility man Sun and defender Halford become Blades boss Kevin Blackwell's first signings of the summer.
Former Manchester City player Sun has agreed a two-year deal while Halford arrives in South Yorkshire on a season-long loan from Sunderland.
Experienced China international Sun, 30, spent six seasons with City, where he made over 150 appearances in all competitions.
Halford was brought to Sunderland by Roy Keane for £250,000 at the beginning of last season but failed to make the grade in the north-east and made just eight Premier League appearances.
He was eventually loaned out to Charlton Athletic for the second half of the campaign, where he made 16 starts.
