Andreas Kotelnik is in no doubt at all that there will only be one winner when he defends his WBA junior-welterweight crown against Amir Khan on July 18 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
The 31-year-old Ukrainian, who is currently based in Germany preparing for the bout, said: "I am the world champion, this is my job, I have been doing it for 24 years and I have no doubt I will win."
"I don"t want to say too much, I just want to say, "Hey, I"ll see you in the ring.
"I won my title in Cardiff against Gavin Rees - that was my target and now I have to defend my title over there".

pps word is Bute is gonna have a rematch with Librado Andrade on the FMJ bill in September,so no Froch for now
p.s did you see the Ortiz v Maidana fight? lost count of the 8 counts . . fantastic stuff and the light welters just got even better with the emergence of Maidana he would give anyone in that division nightmares for the first 5 rounds
exentertainer,I also think Arthur Abraham would be a great fight for Froch,he's looking increasingly unable to make 11' 6 and will move up to the 12 stoners soon enough. He's got a good rep in Europe and fades towards the last 1/4 of a fight which would be tailor made for Froch's relentless approach, also he's not a concussive puncher which would compliment Froch's defensive shortcomings.Kessler is Mr Avoided at the moment, apparently Hopkins turned down a $4 million purse to fight him recently.
Also, I cant understand why so many people, not just boxing fans, hate khan. What has he done? You couldn't hardly find a nicer guy?
Firstlt on Bute, he is ranked 2nd with the ring. Nt too bad? And he is defiently not 'no danger'. Thats ur opninion but he is a class act. Just because he doesnt come out of France to fight in America doesnt mean he's rubbish.
On Khan, Khan HAS tried to get the Murray and Thaxton fight on more than once but when he goes to make a deal they price themselves out so they are constantly using his name for publicity and not having to get beat off him. Lets be serious Thaxton lost at his european title shot. Khan would mow him down like a bag of rotten spuds, same with that misserable git murray.
murray and thaxton have tried to get a fight with khan the baloon but always managed to avoid them when the time comes for khan to fight the real boxers it is all over for him.thats why he always fights idiots that will go on for a while.
ranked 2? he's IBF champ!
Bute has fought no one, how can beating him give Froch credit, its a nice option for Carl to unify as the guy is no danger at all, where is the fight? Bute has fought his last 13 fights in the same town!
I think this Bute fella is really under rated, well, hes not technically, think hes ranked 2nd, but he's pretty much unheard off. Which is why Froch would not gain alot by beating him. I'd love to see Froch fight Hopkins. I know everyone says Pavlik had a cold etc , but why is he not screaming for a rematch. There is not one up-comer out there today that will fight Hopkins now, which is why he will have to retire. Its the same with Mosley.
On Khan, I doubt old Thanxton would even land a shot on him. Khan would be all over him and Thax wouldnt know what hit him. Murray has had 26 fights and still fighting british rnked 7 fighters, speaks for itself, has done nothing to warrent a fight with Khan. I dont see why people think this fool will beat Khan. Has no-one seen the way Khan boxes when he's on top of his game. From the 1st bell Barrera didnt have a chance. He could beat Murray tonight if he wanted but why give the gobby little runt a payday?
Khan had won silver at olympics at 17, fought Kindelan, fought the biggest puncher out there knowing he had a suspect chin, fought barrera, fighting soon for a world title. Murray has just lost his british title due to lack of professionalism. Tell me, someone, how this fella deserves to fight Khan?
I agree about Froch needing a fight and Clinton Woods isn't a bad thought at all. Never thought of it and can see Woods being blasted out in 12 rounds. yes, a very good suggestion. But has anyone heard if this Bute fight is happening at all? Bute has KO'd 19 out of 23 opponents so he is a dangerous prospect. Thaxton could beat Khan because of his heavy fists and strong chin. It's almost similar to why I see Froch beating Calzaghe if they ever fought. Which won't happen. It's the heavy hands and desire to not stop fighting that makes them winners over theor opponents. Except Froch IS World Class where as Thaxton is European Level. It's the old, strong punch and chin v blurring hand-speed, question
sirstevejones you never fail to revolt, please go and boil your head this instant.
Hi exentertainer, yeah I think Murray could give Khan a difficult night but as much as I respect Thaxton's heart and tenacity I think Khan would take him to school, again,as long as he keeps his chin tucked in,Thaxton is deceptively heavyhanded but I could only honestly give him a puncher's chance.I've said before I don't think Froch is ready for Kessler,ok he starched Taylor but only after having being given a boxing lesson off him for 12 rounds.Think an ideal fight would be Clinton Woods at catch weight, could see their styles suiting each other and styles make fights, wouldn't hurt Froch to have 1-2 low profile fights like Woods without his belt on the line,he needs to ship a few to the point where he realises he has to have some defence before he gets in with the Kesslers of this world.
I'd like to see him fight Kevin Mitchel...that would be an awesome fight. Although a good fighter, Bradley brings nothing to the table (big risk, smalll reward).
I dont mean he would move up now and not that he ever will atall im just saying he could. Alot of boxers say they wont box in their 30's but they always do. BHOP promised his mum on her deathbed he's stop years ago. I really cant see Khan retiring at 27, no way. I want to see him fight bradley.
I heard Khan say that he doesnt plan to defend the title but move back down to lightweight. Remember the no 1 contender for the WBA title is the guy who beat Ortiz and I don't think Khan wants anything to do with him. There are no big names in the light middleweight division so there's no point moving up there (personally I dont hink he'll be big enough, alos he doesant plan to box into his 30s).
I cant see Khan ever fight FMJ. I think he'll beat Kotlenik, make a couple of defences, then REMATCH PRESCOTT, them maybe, MARQUEZ, then Pacman, then move up to welterweight and he could even go up to light middle if he wanted, remember he's 5'10. Xenterteainer, just to let you know, he has come on a lot under roache. He doesnt stand and trade he gets in and out, totally different fighter. But I cant see him ever fighting Mayweather.
Xentertainer, I see what you are saying about the 60 40 split, if I was Pacquiao I would demand at minimum 50 50, he is after all the current p4p no.1 so why should mayweather call the shots, he only has himsefl to blame for his money problems!
I have watched all of Khans fights and he really does look so much better under roach, he is a boxer now and not just a bully like he used to be.
He will beat Kotelnik but I still doent see how he would have anywhere near the credibility he would need to get a fight with FMJ. Mayweather only has a few fightrs left before he retires again so why would he waste one of those on Khan when he could fight Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosely, etc etc
Thanks for the people who think I talk sense. I do try to stick to boxing matters with my postings so thanks for the comments. I have to confess, I haven't seen Khan fight since SKY Box Office bought his fights so against Barrera, Prescott and Kotelnik, I cannot say whether he has really improved. I imagine, under Roach's guidance he has come on a long way. But in response to Mayweather not wanting Khan...he may well want Pacquiao and could have the fight at the drop of a hat BUT..Pacquiao won't want a 60-40 split that FMJ is wanting. Khan would take the fight on. But Khan's chin will always be questionable as you cannot improve punch durability. You're either born with it or not. Hatton might want Khan but I think he's really lost his hunger. But if Hatton does fight, it will be his last. If Khan wins, FMJ is next. Perhaps.
Stevejones, what is Michael Jackson got to do with in this boxing column?? Besides, have you got any evidence to back it up with what you are claiming??? Why is it one cannot be civil to another person even in death??? I wonder what people might say about you and your good character after you depart this world to the next??
Please, stick to Boxing if you have got anything worth to comment on.
khan will always fight nobodys because frank warren knows he will get destroyed fighting the good ones so he will keep fighting idiots and making warren money just like he did with naz.
