Andreas Kotelnik is in no doubt at all that there will only be one winner when he defends his WBA junior-welterweight crown against Amir Khan on July 18 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
The 31-year-old Ukrainian, who is currently based in Germany preparing for the bout, said: "I am the world champion, this is my job, I have been doing it for 24 years and I have no doubt I will win."
"I don"t want to say too much, I just want to say, "Hey, I"ll see you in the ring.
"I won my title in Cardiff against Gavin Rees - that was my target and now I have to defend my title over there".

sirstevejones12 i have reported your post!
Kotelnik is a poor world champion who won the title against a poor opponent. This will be another easy ride for Khan. A step up yes, but not a step up that people want to see. Everyone still questions Khan's chin. He has every other attribute to be a devastating fighter...speed, strength and technique, and with roach as his trainer, a far better defense. i think the British fight fans like to see someone that can go to war though. someone that will go toe to toe and exchange blows when it matters, and until khan can prove he can take a punch against a quality opponent, the public won't back him like they did before his defeat against Prescott. i think he needs to gain the respect of the fight fans by stepping in the ring with world class. i like Khan, but Berrera in his prime would take him apart, and he's been put on his arse by nobodies. rematch against Prescott to put the demons at rest. then lets see if he's ready to step up and fight the big boys.
This is the ideal fight for Khan to see how far he has moved on in his boxing career. This is the start of a new phase which the world wide boxing fans can decide what Khan is really made of and it is a fight that he must win regardless of the titile he is chasing. If he were to win he will be forced into fights that he needs to prove himself in the elite class. There are several fighters he should face in the future including the Pacman and possibly Hitman Hatton if he wants to continue his boxing career. I believe Khan will win this fight but it will not be easy for him. This is a world titile fight and Khan got to be 100% focused mentally and physically fit. He will have to prepare for a long fight with Kotelnik who can make khans life very hard the longer the fight goes on. If Khan fights with his head and stick to his game plan he will win on points.
I hope that Kotelink knocks out Khan and above all else to be fair on the other boxers khan has not earned his right to be even fighting for a world title. He Khan knows he has not gone through a legitimate route like other boxers have to fight for a world title and that is why Khan gets so much criticsm .Its got nothing to do with him being asian . All his fights to date have been carefully hand picked to make him look good .
What right does khan have then to be given a shot at world title as he has not earned it.
Khan may have hand speed but he still has a glass jaw and he is stepping up a weight and so will be fighting bigger guys who hit harder. Kotelink is the worthy winner in my eyes plus he has a good heart.
if it goes past 4 rounds ...khan needs to stay outta reach and dance like ali!!
Xentertainer, I like your posts because the majority of the time you talk sense and you do know your boxing but I have to disagree on a coule of things here. I think Khan Murray would be a great fight and one I hope will happen but I see only one result and that is a Khan win by stoppage, under Roach he is looking better and better and Murray just doesn't have the quality to beat him, not now, maybe a year ago but not now.
Khan vs FMJ, no way would he be anywhere near Mayweathers radar, if he wants to fight a Roach fighter it will be Pacquiao, why fight the apprentice when you can fight the master and reclaim the number 1 p4p spot.
I think Khan will walk through kotelnik then fight.
1.hatton 2. marquez 3. fmj 4. pAacman
GO ON KHAN
Hi Jack, I can see why you think FMJ will miss Khan for Cotto, Pacquiao, Mosley et al but I do feel he'd give Khan a chance, beat him up and then mock Roach's credentials. Trust me, it's the Mayweather way. But Hatton will retire. While he could hurt and defeat Khan, I think Khan would defeat Hatton with the same tactics Pacman employed. And Khan has the hand speed to do it. The longer Hatton doesn't fight, the less likely he ever will. But do you think Thaxton and/or John Murray could beat Khan? And will we ever see Froch v Kessler?

Hi exentertainer yeah agree with you,I think Khan will walk through Kotelnick as long as he keeps his chin tucked in,though the Ukranian isn't known as a banger let's face it,it doesn't take much to wobble Khan.As for a proposed fight with FMJ not in a month of Sundays he simply has bigger fish to fry.I honestly think Hatton is holding back on an announcement until he sees the result of the Khan fight,he would see that as a shoe in for a way back to a belt with a big purse attached.
hope khan gets destroyed he is a joke and does not deserve a title shot.
I don't doubt Khan at all and I'll be supporting our soon-to-be second British World Champion at present BUT...I think Murray has a certain defiant quality. A never-say-die attitude. Remember, he hasn't been knocked down in his career (correct me if I am wrong) and I think it would be a great fight. If Khan went beyond 6 rounds, Murray's stamina would kick in and he'll win on points. But how much damage would Khan's hands do before that? Let's hope Kotelnik can't make next week and we'll have Murray to step in! Khan will beat Kotelnik though.
In fact, I think Khan v Mayweather Jr WILL happen after Marquez v Mayweather Jr. It'll be for a World Title. You heard it here first! Then it will be Pacquiao v FMJ if Khan loses. Roach will sacrifice his younger man as a reconnaisance for his number one.
boy you is uggllyy!!!
