South Africa have made 10 changes to their starting XV for the third and final Test with the British and Irish Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Banned duo Schalk Burger and Bakkies Botha have been replaced by Heinrich Brussow and Johann Muller at blindside and lock respectively, while Morne Steyn (pictured), the hero from the Boks' second Test victory, takes over at fly-half from Ruan Pienaar.
Only scrum-half Fourie du Press remains from the second Test back-line, with Zane Kirchner taking over at full-back, Odwa Ndungane and Jongi Nokwe on the wings, and Jaque Fourie and Wynand Olivier forming a partnership in the centres.
Up front, hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle replaces Bismark du Plessis in the starting XV, while Ryan Kankoswki gets the nod over Pierr Spies at number eight.
Spies, du Plessis, Pienaar and Frans Steyn, full-back for the first and second Tests, drop down to the bench.
Fourie, a late try-scorer last weekend, is preferred at outside centre to Adi Jacobs, while Olivier comes in for the injured Jean de Villiers at inside centre.
There is no place in the match squad for wings Bryan Habana and JP Pietersen, who both scored tries last weekend and are likely being rested ahead of the Tri-Nations starting later this month.
South Africa: 15-Zane Kirchner, 14-Odwa Ndungane, 13-Jaque Fourie, 12-Wynand Olivier, 11-Jongi Nokwe, 10-Morne Steyn, 9-Fourie du Preez, 8-Ryan Kankowski, 7-Juan Smith, 6-Heinrich Brussow, 5-Victor Matfield, 4-Johann Muller, 3-John Smit (captain), 2-Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1-Tendai Mtawarira.
Replacements: 16-Bismarck du Plessis, 17-Gurthro Steenkamp, 18-Deon Carstens, 19-Steven Sykes, 20-Pierre Spies, 21-Ruan Pienaar, 22-Frans Steyn.

well seeing as we're stereotyping each other now, compared to the obviously fantastic education you received mike probably learning how to sell class a drugs and getting underage girls pregnant? isn't that what all football fans do?
up yours rugby tosssers.. you are all bent and learnt how to take it in the dirt box at public school
Even though the series is won and the Boks have the latitude to experiment, this team looks more than useful to me.
Anyone who has been following super 14 would probably agree:
Kankowski is a class footballer, as big and physical as Powell, but with more speed, superb hands and better vision.
Steyn has more than earned his place having been the highest points scorer in the super 14 and in far better form than the rather luke-warm Pienaar. He can also break the line.
Brussow should always have been selected ahead of Burger. He is a brilliant, pacy fetcher who will steal ball all day long. Just look at his impact last week.
Olivier should always been picked ahead of Jacobs, who has had a poor series so far and is average at best.
Kirchner has earned his place on pure form: he has been the best no 15 in SA by some way this season.
Ndungane and Nokwe are both exciting, pacy players who can tackle. Nontheless, sad to see Habana and Pietersen rested.
Chiliboy may be the weakling here.
But bloomin' 'eck: look at that bench, boys!!!
As much as I hate to give PDV credit, I think this is a great opportunity and ("choke")intelligent tactic to give these guys a run: they have all had their hands up all season long, are keen as mustard with lots to prove.
I think the Boks will spank the Lions.
taking the @£$% a bit there, team saturated with inexperienced/ unworthy players, i suppose its giving a couple of guys a run out but there are quite a few players I would have liked to have seen instead there, broussow is a worthy replacement for burger the scum though
wynandbb thats very purile!
Thats right Boks, enjoy the good times while they last.
Your annual reality check awaits you...hehe

The Boks are a good team, but were third last year in the Tri-Nations, should have lost to Scotland and Connacht last Autumn, and in the last 7 years, England have stuffed them, and Ireland have pipped them once, and beaten them well the second time; no losses. Again, the Boks are good, but essentially won the RWC because the All Blacks bottled it, and the teams who kicked the ball 90 metres for 80 mins succeeded... e.g. SA, Arg. Anyway, they are more equipped now, but the Aussies aren't looking a bad team so far this year.
mikeywake: correct me if i'm wrong but didn't SA finish bottom in last year's Tri-Nations? So what's this "Whilst the Lions can go home and rest for a bit, SA are straight into the tri-nations and will want to defend that trophy now this one is done and dusted."
if you're going to sledge at least do it with a bit of thought.
Remind my of the score line SA-Eng in the last RWC, and no, I don't mean the final game either.
Mikeywake,
England gave the Boks a good kicking in 2002, I believe the score was 53-3
I hope that opens your narrow vision
Also, to help to open your eyes lowly England convincingly beat the Boks in 2001, 2003 and 2004
I am sure there have been many other nations that have also followed suit in giving the Boks a kicking
Since 2005 you guys have built a fantastic team that has worked hard to get to the position they are in. The only down side for you guys now is that now you are at the top there is only one way you can go!!!
I hope you guys are right - I want to see another great game despite the Boks needing to be ready for the Tri-nations. Judging by recent All-Black and Wallabies performances you guys should have little to worry about...Oh, England 53 - Springboks 3 in 2002. I'd call that a good kicking, wouldn't you? :)
Mikeywake
England at Twickenham 2002. 53-3 against the boks. That qualifies as a really good kicking. The worst I can recall amongst the proper test nations if you don't count Italy. Any raise on that?
Agree with your post but you did ask.
With these three tests as warm-up games SA should be favourites for the Tri-Nations.
@ Mikeywake. SA 0 NZ 19 (2008). NZ 33 SA 6 (2007). SA 26 NZ 45 (2006). Arrogant @#$%.
Aaron,
What a stupid comment! This is professional test rugby, the series is won and they are preparing for the tri-nations where they will need to call upon the squad players. Brussow, Fourie and M Steyn are better than the players that were selected above them last week and rest assured those that come in are not second rate. Whilst the Lions can go home and rest for a bit, SA are straight into the tri-nations and will want to defend that trophy now this one is done and dusted. They will not want to lose this test especially in the Transvaal heartland of Ellis Park, and also, when has any side ever given the Boks a good kicking?
The Lions almost lost to a second string team the E-bokes
Aaron don't let the bok selection disappoint mate,we don't take games lightly.we should still hammer you guys.
Other than the fly-half and the two banned players that had to be replaced, this smacks of being a little direspectful to the Lions. Also, if the Lions give 'em a good kicking they can then always claim they fielded a second string side. Given the tests have been so close and first-class entertainment, it seems a shame that the final game maybe a none event. We'll see.
