World Cup regular Ben Cathro, riding for MTBCut/Cyclejersey took the elite win at round three of downhills National Points Series last weekend in Fort William, Scotland. Cathro won by just 1.46 seconds ahead of teammate and fellow countryman Joe Barnes of Scotland. Dan Stanbridge rounded out the top three with Tom Deacon in fourth spot.

Aimee Dix took the win in the womens category, but it was youngster Manon Carpenter who posted the most phenomenal run of her life to win the Women's category, and clock a time six seconds faster than Dix. At just 15 years of age there is every chance Carpenter could become a major force on the international stage.

Another youngster to take the limelight at the weekend was Junior winner Harry Heath, who clocked the fifth fastest time of the day. With backing from big brands such as Funn and 5.10, Harry could well be joining Carpenter on the international scene.

Renowned for being one of the wettest places on earth, riders arrived to find a dry, arid track with fast, loose corners that demanded the most from the UKs elite. Taking place just three weeks after the Fort William World Cup, the already brutal track featured huge potholes and rutted corners, catching many riders out on their way down the hill.
