New Oldham recruit Dean Brill has warned Greg Fleming that he is ready for the challenge of claiming the goalkeeping spot at Boundary Park.

Brill, 23, has joined the Latics on a two-year deal following his departure from Luton and will compete with Fleming for a starting berth.

"I'm young and I'm ready for competition," Brill told the club's official website.

"I know Greg played a lot of games last year; it won't be easy to get in but hopefully I can show the gaffer what I can do during pre-season. I have to earn the shirt."
