Newcastle's international players will meet up with the rest of the squad to begin pre-season training on July 13.
Sebastien Bassong, Jonas Gutierrez, Geremi and Xisco have been given an extended break after playing for their countries at the end of last season, and in the case of the young Spaniard, at the European Under-21 Championships.
However, Damien Duff, who played for the Republic of Ireland in their friendly against Nigeria on May 29 and then the 1-1 World Cup qualifier draw in Bulgaria on June 6, will be back in harness sooner.
Chris Hughton and the players, who started work at the club's Darsley Park headquarters on Wednesday, are due to head for their week-long training camp in Ireland on Sunday, and Duff will join them there.
The Magpies are due to play their first pre-season friendly against Shamrock Rovers in Dublin next Saturday.

Extended break? who's making these decisions. Geremi, Xisco and others have had all f ick in season off and earned a fare few bob for the privilage aswell.
Bring on the kids. Anything`s better than the bunch of losers they have now.
i worry for us, weve not made any headway this summer, if anything weve moved backwards.
I would give Geremi and Xisco a permanently extended break, and a few others too!
