Hudson completes Cardiff move

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson is in the market for a centre-half after skipper Mark Hudson completed his move to Cardiff.

Hudson, 27, has joined the Bluebirds for an initial £1.075million just 12 months after arriving on a free transfer from Crystal Palace.

Parkinson said: "We wish Mark all the best. We've got to move on now and work hard to bring in a replacement."

Hudson made 43 appearances for the Addicks and scored three goals but could not prevent them from slipping into League One.

  1. getting a millon+ for a player who could not defend and was at fault for so many goals conceded throughout the season was good business in my book - (Sharon)Ambrose did not want to play for Charlton - he went missing so often in games - so well done for Parky for getting rid of both!!

  2. I totally agree about Ambrose and if we could get Ward he would be a great replacement for Hudson. Definately captain material.

  3. well said Graham, could not have put it better myself about those 2 players. there are a few more dead wood to get rid of and i would say that Warnock must have blinkers on when watching Ambrose. The lad became total dross and made it clear he did not want to play, Palace are welcome to him. bit of pay back for Hudson.

  4. no great loss in my opinion & really good business financially. If possible we should do everything possible to secure the services of Darren Ward to play alongside our new capture from MK Dons, thus ensuring a sound central defence which was 90% of the problem previously. Ward would also make an Excellent skipper having witnessed the difference he made to the youngsters on arrival on loan. I notice we have also managed to rid ourselves of another piece of dead wood to Palace, namely Ambrose. Neil Warnock says all he wants is for Ambrose to play with a smile on his face, that's good, because he rarely puts in a performance anyway, smiling or otherwise !!!
