Torres wants Posh future

Thu 02 Jul, 11:32 AM

Sergio Torres has vowed to fight for a place in the Peterborough first team and play his way off the club's transfer list.

The 25-year-old started just 12 matches last season following his £250,000 move from Wycombe.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson clearly wasn't impressed and put the Spanish midfielder up for sale but Torres is aiming to change all that.

Torres told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Any player would be disappointed to be placed on the transfer list, but I am a professional and I will try hard to make the manager change his mind while I am still at the club.

"The most important thing for me right now is to have a good pre-season because last year I missed most of it because of injury and that didn't help me settle in at the club.

"I don't want to leave this club and I want to play in the Championship. Many people have told me that the Championship might suit my game as I will get more time on the ball."
