Milan Mandaric is refusing to pay over the odds to bring players to Leicester.
The Foxes were recently thwarted in their bid to sign Swindon striker Simon Cox as they prepare for their return to the Coca-Cola Championship and chairman Mandaric will not change his stance in refusing to pay "silly" money for players despite Leicester's recent promotion.
"Sometimes, when you go in for a player, their club increases (the fee) because they look at Leicester as being one of the big clubs," he told the Leicester Mercury.
"That is something which I like to believe is the case too, but you have to have certain criteria and be sure you are buying players as an investment.
"If people then start throwing silly numbers around, you have to pull away."
Meanwhile, Leicester's away clash against Newcastle United at St James's Park, scheduled to be played on Saturday August 29, will now be played on Monday August 31.

@#$% on give the lads a chance i think we do ok this year top ten fin and then push on
next season come on you city
I thought he promised to spend spend spend if city got promoted?
I'd rather watch a well coached side than a bought team and I think Milan is right not to pay overblown transfer fees for players, when we have a bright young squad and we have a manager paid good money to instil belief in them and see how far they can go. Bring it on and good luck lads!
What a @#$% looks like we going down again then, good players cost good money
