Cardiff boss Dave Jones declared himself satisfied after his side drew 0-0 with Ajax on Friday night to share the Vansdirect TrophyChances were at a premium against Marco van Basten's men but Jones is content with the way his squad is shaping up ahead of next week's opener against Southampton.
He said: "For us it was a great exercise in discipline, shape and fitness.
"We were playing against a very good side who were going to keep the ball.
"We had to play a way that we're probably not going to have to in the Championship, although we might have to if we pull someone from the Premiership in one of the cup competitions."
