Sat 02 Aug, 06:45 PM

Amr Zaki came off the bench for his Wigan debut and scored a last-gasp winner to earn Latics a hard-earned 3-2 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.Egypt forward Zaki, a second-half substitute for Steve Bruce's side, calmly slotted home from Henri Camara's assist with just seconds remaining.

Emile Heskey had earlier put Wigan ahead when he headed home from a Daniel de Ridder corner after 17 minutes.

That lead lasted just two minutes as Jermaine Johnson finished a fine run by slotting past Carlo Nash in the Wigan goal.

De Ridder's set-piece delivery then handed the visitors the advantage for a second time, defender Titus Bramble nodding goalwards on this occasion.

Maynor Figueroa then conceded a penalty, which Deon Burton dispatched to make it 2-2 before Zaki's match-winning intervention.
