David Moyes insists he is not leaving Everton despite reports he was set to stand down.
There had been suggestions the Scot was ready to quit the Toffees following the club's lack of transfer activity during the summer.
But the former Preston boss, who has been in charge for over six years, is determined to fulfil his expectations at Everton.
"I am not going anywhere," Moyes told the club's official website.
"I am here and intend to see the job through. We have great expectations and I hope that I am able to fulfil them.
"I hope that maybe we can try and get together in the next week or two and sort something out.
"At the moment my energies are focused on bringing in new players. We have a certain amount of money to improve what we have got here."
Moyes is looking to make up to four new signings, but insists he will not sacrifice his principles to merely increase the numbers in his squad.
He added: "I will not bring in just for the sake of it.
"We need to bring in three or four main players that are going to cost big money and my standards are that high that I'm not going to bring them down.
"We need to bring in better players now to try and help the squad. But we don't have bundles of cash."

He is a great manager, everton must never lose him.....
I'm not a Liverpool supporter or Everton however Everton are my No:2 choice...why...because you have a damn good manager in David Moyes. He doesn't shout / complain from the roof tops but gets on with it....Everton you are lucky to have him...look after him...support him and hopefully he can find funds to give you a team worthy of that name...Everton.
Yes I am and always will be a Man U supporter but hope that one day you will end up with a team worthy of coming second to the greatest team in the world.

And neither is his team unless he gets some offensive talent. Can't rely on Arteta forever.
Kenwright - defined in the Oxford dictioanry as a person who talks a lot and does very little. The Toffees are going to come unstuck this season and Mr Kenwright will be ringing his hands on TV whilst listing his excuses.
the last comment is bang on all these promises and nothing, bad season on its way and to think we are so close to somthing i thought i would ever say this but i think i have had enough, i honestly never thought we could be back up there and kenwright is going to throw it all away look at spurs they have money were is ours
glad to hear it David Moyes is not going anywhere ,i put my faith in D M to get us out of the shadow of liverpool if anyone can he is the man to do it ,but we need more players to keep our run going if we are to break into the top 4 ,so i hope to see some good signings before the start of the season
Moyes is right, he's not going anywhere - and as long as he's in charge, neither are the Toffee's
I'm a true blue but i can see trouble ahead for the club and its reminiscent of the very dark peter johnson days. The ceo resigns with no explanation then bellefields development gets the thumbs down, our head of communications mr ian wade goes on the missing list and not said a word in months about kirkby or the sodhexo & jjb licences, a reported transfer kitty of 20m soon becomes 10m yet we bid 11.8m for one player (that was surely to pacify the supporters for a few days).
The kirkby fiasco can't happen its an impossibility even if given the green light the price of steel and petrol are constantly rising and our proposed 100m input along with tescos 150m won't be enough to cover the overall cost which would leave us with a sub standard stadium due to corners being cut but worst of all our tranfer kitty for the next 3-4 years will be next to zero which is probably why there so many kids ie kissock, rodwell, gosling, molyneux, jutzwieke, agard ...etc are being bedded in now for the upcoming season as moyesy knows we'll be heavily dependant on them in the future.
The only shining light is that moyes will stay one more seasson and perform miracles before realising even he's not god and will leave for a club with cash to realise his potential. I know this sounds like doom and gloom but as evertonians we're used to it, i hope beyond hope that Robert Earl can become the saviour though, he has the money and financial sense to put Kenwright and wyness to shame .... fingers crossed people.
