Igor Anton sealed his first win of the season with a home victory at the Subida a Urkiola in Basque Spain.
The 26-year-old Euskaltel-Euskadi rider beat fellow Spaniard Xavi Tondo (Andalucia-Cajasur) in the 161km race to win in a time of five hours, 25 minutes and 36 seconds.
Colombian Freddy Montoya, of Boyaca, prevented David Arroyo from making it a Spanish one-two-three.
Anton and Tondo were helped by their teams, who set the pace until the final ascent, where the final top four were joined by Germany's Patrik Sinkewitz (Whirlpool-Author), and Spaniards Benyat Intxausti and Alberto Fernandez de la Puebla (both Fuji-Servetto).
The lead was traded until Intxausti, Tondo and Montoya opened up a small gap with 2km left.
But David Arroyo made a surge with 500 metres remaining and Anton won the sprint finish.
