Johnson settled on line-up

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson believes his side are firmly on the right path after they ended their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 win over Wycombe.

Goals from Bradley Orr, David Clarkson and Ivan Sproule gave City the spoils against their League One visitors, with Matty Phillips on target for the Chairboys.

And their good form means Johnson has virtually decided on his starting line-up at Preston for Saturday`s opening game.

He told the club`s official website: "I was pleased with that group of lads and it will take something to move them out at the moment.

"We`re reaching a decent bit of form and we don`t want to change that. I know where we`re going.

"We`ve got another practice game on Monday where some of the lads who are playing catch up will get a run-out, but we`ve only got seven days until the Preston game and not a lot will change between now and then."
