The Emirates Cup got off to a tepid opening as Clydesdale Bank Premier League champions Rangers beat Paris St Germain 1-0 thanks to a scrappy winner from defender Madjid Bougherra.
The four-team tournament, which also includes Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, began with a minute's applause for Sir Bobby Robson, who died on Friday, aged 76. The tribute to the former England manager was immaculate with the travelling Scottish fans joining in enthusiastically.
Bougherra's goal came 15 minutes from time, with the former Charlton man heading in off the underside of the bar and the back of Claude Makelele following Pedro Mendes' corner.
The football served up by both sides was, for much of the game, typical of a pre-season affair.
The Scottish side were certainly not outplayed by their French opponents but a sharper cutting edge would have earned them a greater margin of victory.

Err...can Yahoo make its mind up? The other report says that they were the best team and deserved the win? Were any of these people actually watching the game!?
o and pt 3 get your bags ready
pt3 rangers played just as bad asthat other weegie shitmate both teams need to up there game or they are both in the @#$% and yes rangers need to sign at least 3 new players but they cant cause they are skint
Lucky to finish in the top 6? Three things spring to mind, Dynamo Moscow, Sigma Olomouc and Steaua Bucharest. We should pack our bags and shut down if we dont win the SPL this year, even without any new signings
good win for the huns but if they play like that in the spl they will be lucky to be in the top6 they realy need to up there game you wouldnt have thought this was a tournament it looked like they were playing a friendy but i suppose a win is a win no matter how ugly
Bobby was a football man and Rangers always pay their respects to players and managers not like cacklingdons or celtic
