A 60-second guide to Manchester City's British record signing Robinho, who joined from Real Madrid for £32.5 million on transfer deadline day.
* Born: Sao Vicente near Santos, Brazil - January 25, 1984.
* Robinho was discovered by Santos in 1996 and started playing in club's junior divisions. In 1999, Pele saw Robinho taking part in a youth team training session and was reported as saying: "This lad takes me back to the start of my career."
* He signed a professional contract with Santos in 2002 and in December the club beat Corinthians to win the Brazilian championship. The most replayed moment of the two-legged tie was when Robinho performed seven successive stepovers to provoke an opponent into giving away a penalty.
* He helped Santos reach the South American Libertadores Cup final for the first time in 40 years in June 2003, where they lost to Argentina's Boca Juniors.
* He made his Brazil debut in 1-0 defeat against Mexico in July 2003 at the Gold Cup finals. He helped them win the Confederations Cup in June 2005 and the Copa America in 2007, finishing as the tournament's top scorer with six goals.
* His mother Marina de Souza was kidnapped by two armed men in November 2004. She was released in December and two days later, Robinho helped Santos beat Vasco da Gama 2-1 in their last game to clinch their second Brazilian championship in three years. He finished as joint top scorer for Santos with 21 goals.
* After a tug-of-war transfer saga, Real Madrid reached a deal with Santos to buy the Brazilian club's 60 percent share in the player for £17m. He signed a five-year deal with Real in August 2005.
* He made a dazzling debut as a substitute for Real, sparking them to a 2-1 victory against Cadiz in the opening game of the campaign, but struggled throughout first season in Spain scoring eight league goals in 37 outings.
* He won his first Spanish league title under coach Fabio Capello in 2007, but often featured as a substitute and only managed six league goals from 32 appearances.
* Robinho hit the headlines in October 2007 when details of a wild party after Brazil's 5-0 victory over Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier were revealed in the local media. Real took disciplinary measures after he missed a league game following his late return from international duty.
* He helped Real to second consecutive league title in 2008 with his best season for the club so far, scoring 11 goals from 32 outings in the league, and a further four in the Champions League.
* Made it clear in last week of August 2008 he wanted to leave Real for Chelsea after the club considered selling him to finance a move for Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.
* Real accept offer from Manchester City for the player, who signs a four-year contract at Eastlands.

city can buy a stadium ten times bigger than united, remember we are the riches in the world and dont forget you dumb @#$% united are still in debt..
Doe,s the take over of City mean they will now buy a stadium of thier own or will they still leech on the rate payers of Manchester, United may not have a money bags owner but they do have a stadium they can call thier own.
COME ON THE BLUES
For Robinho, it's sad he agreed a move to Man. City. But I see it as a last minute desperation to leave Madrid since Chelsea was not forthcoming with Madrid asking price. I still forsee him ending up in Chelsea in the nearest future. He is a fine player with a lot of potentials but he needs the balls to blossom as a forward striker. Will the supplies come? Will he be patient if City is not getting the results? Robinho! best of luck to you and welcome to the Premiership
Why is Robihno with city? cos even chelsea seen that he is OVERPRICED, way too overhyped......and now.....he's over here.....playing with a wannabe contender to the crown of the vastly superior BIG 4 (united, chelsea, arsenal, and liverpool)
Maybe the carling cup or uefa cup qualification this season city fans, but, unless you have a fairygodfather, who can wave a wand, and make up 4 years of neglect, i doubt you'll be going anywhere this season, even with the biggest player you've ever bought !! PS. Mark Hughes is the sucessor to Sir Alex.....ha ha ha ha
u know what, i think robinho been told by his agent that manchester bid for him and accepted straight away, he doesn't realised that he is going to 'other' manchester... just what i think when i heard this news...
city fans, wake up!! lets take a little lesson from history, manchester city will fall flat on their faces, they always fall flat on their faces, this little blip in the man city soap opera is no different. im just waitin for the whole thing to turn to custard!! im surprised u guys even have any optimism left!!
This is really great for M. city and football. Robino is five stars player. I watch grow and his talent is unbelievable. I like him very much so as a player and thank's God he is happy with his new club.
he will bring a lot of smile to the fans..
Emeth,

We ar'nt, anymore, HEE HEE HEE!, And our new owner's don't give a hoot, what you all think, as do us LOYAL FAN'S, May be it might take a season or two, to gain What we are after, But mark my word's, We will have the last laugh!!! Watch out United, we're on your tail's, Big Mamma. xxx
well!!! a fantastic transfer for CİTY hea....I think premier leaugue is now harder...and liverpool is in danger now cause tottenham, city, and porsmouth are very strong in this year and they are going to race for the 4th position so everything will going to change in.....but im sure that chelsea is the champion in premier league so we know the first who is second.......
having the best players in the world dosen't mean you gonna win titles. i'm a gunner for life and i know our boys gon shoot them down the league table and make them run back to where they came from. long live wenger and his ideology on football. makes me proud to a fan of the arsenal
England has been raping other countries for centuries so i guess what goes around comes around!
i am so sorry to see that English football has been raped by those outsiders with big money!!!
Don't be surprized if manchester city will buy players better than Cristiano Ronaldo in the future specially from Brazil and don't talk about Robinho cuz it's just nothing you seen yet, these people have OIL MACHINE and don't depend on trophies or fans to have fund for thier players, but if manchester city wouldn't be better than ninth place like what club did in 2008,you'll find how many coaches will be replaced just to pick up a place better than ninth, the POOR COACH will damn the day he've been a coach for manchester city,I don't know how many coaches will replaced just to reach fourth place they wish to reach this season, the players would be the greatest winner of thier deals at manchester city,if MARK HUGHES a CLEVER ,he wouldn't say he needs one more player or trust me this will be the START of ENDLESS COACHES at this club, you may find manchester city having 4 or 5 coaches in one season, and try not to luagh much that time
cuz may be new owners will sell manchester city when they realize that laughes in on them, cuz also I think owners willn't find a coach for thier COVERED MINDED.
Berbatov had a dream to join manchester united unless you would find him in manchester city for thier highest bid, let's see who's dream to join manchester city?
I BET 1,000,000 $ FOR WHAT I SAID.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
