Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra has been named in a 23-man Mali squad for their 2010 World Cup qualifier at home to Sudan on October 11 after recovering from a long-term knee injury.
The 28-year-old made his first appearance in nearly a year last week, coming on as a substitute in Real's 2-0 La Liga victory over Villarreal.
Neither side can qualify for the World Cup in South Africa but a win for Mali would earn them a place at next year's African Nations Cup finals in Angola.

Club-less defender Bobo Balde has kept his place in Guinea's squad for their World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on October 11.
Balde, who has been on trial at Toulouse in France after being released by Scottish club Celtic, is part of a 22-man squad for the match in Conakry despite not seeing regular competitive action for several months.
It will be the first match for new Guinea coach Mamadi Souare, who was named this week to replace Aboubacar Titi Camara, fired after Guinea lost their last qualifier in Malawi.
Guinea are virtually out of the race for a place at the 2010 finals but still on course to qualify for next January's African Nations Cup finals.
