Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez was recalled to the Mexico squad for their final two World Cup qualifiers after a lengthy layoff with a leg injury.

However, coach Javier Aguirre has to do without Tottenham Hotspur forward Giovani Dos Santos, out for six weeks with a left ankle injury, for the matches at home to El Salvador on October 10 and away to Trinidad & Tobago four days later.

Mexico are second in the CONCACAF group with 15 points, one fewer than the United States. Honduras are third with 13, Costa Rica have 12, El Salvador eight and Trinidad & Tobago five.

The top three qualify for next year's finals in South Africa while the fourth-placed team will go into a playoff with the nation finishing fifth in South America on November 14 and 18.
