La Liga - Ronaldo BBQ link to Jacksons

Eurosport - Mon, 02 Nov 12:52:00 2009

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau were the Odd Couple in the acclaimed 1968 film of the same name but it appears they could well be rivalled by the 2009 version of Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Jackson's father Joe.

2009-2010 Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo - 0

Jackson is a partner in a company called Game On Products and is planning to sell football barbecues.

What does this have to do with Real Madrid superstar?

Celebrity website TMZ claims Jackson told them the Portuguese winker has agreed to endorse the product.

Jackson said he is due to meet Ronaldo at the beginning of December to shoot TV, magazine and Internet advertisements for the 'Goalie Grill'.

Jackson is planning to flog his grills at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but if you see them pop up at your local B&Q then remember who told you first.

Ronaldo showed his head for business earlier this year by reportedly trademarking 'CR9' - several months before taking that squad number when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

He has also opened fashion boutiques in his home town of Funchal and the Portuguese capital Lisbon, with plans to launch a third in Madrid.

Ronaldo has not commented, and it is not known whether the grills will be available alongside the studded belts and man-bags sold in the boutiques.

  1. Showed his head for buisiness when he trademarked CR9 months before the deal was made with Real?

Thats not an intelligent head for business, thats arrogance, and sleaze. Not to mention a serious ego and lack of loyalty or decency.

  2. It really must be a slow news day when tripe like this appears. We know they get paid too much but the fans love it and pay though the nose for season tickets and football kits that seem to change throughout the season (Following clubs look away now if you don't want to know the score) Arsenal,United, Chelsea,Liverpool,Manchester City, Newcastle, Everton) –
    “LAST TEN YEARS“
Arsenal: 7 home kits, 14 change kits
United: 7 home kits, 14 change kits.
Chelsea: 7 home kits, 16 change kits.
Liverpool: 8 home kits, 15 change kits.
Manchester City: 8 home kits, 16 change kits.
Newcastle: 7 home kits, 18 change kits.
Everton: 10 home kits, 20 change kits.

And by the way that's not including the overpriced season tickets. Players now have the power backed by there cooperate clubs to clinch deals worth millions {good for player and club} and you the fans have afforded them this power, so stop whining and take responsibility for your actions. Well said comment 40 because if everyone spent as much money as I do on football Ronaldo would be signing on and not even working at Asda.

  4. Spot on, #24. It is pathetic to hear people complain about how much footballers make and how expensive football tickets are when you know most of them probably have season tickets and buy the new football kit every year. If everybody spent as much money on football as I do, Ronaldo would be stacking shelves for Asda.

  17. I cannot believe how anal you all are. This is all about the publicists and all you stupid ######## who watch this theatrical spectacle. Stop spending your money to watch football (which it isn't, football is a competitive game) and ronaldo will earn zilch. Don't complain when the answer is in your hands.
