Premier League - Bassong injury blow for Tottenham

Tottenham's injury problems show no signs of abating, as Sebastien Bassong has revealed he is likely to be out for a month with a hamstring problem.

The classy Cameroon defender played the entire 90 minutes of Spurs' 3-0 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday, but manager Harry Redknapp said after the game that Bassong had picked up an injury.

Redknapp did not elaborate on the nature of the problem, but Bassong explained that a hamstring injury is likely to rule him out until December.

"It's not good news. It's a hamstring. I'll be out maybe four or five weeks. It just feels like my muscle is gone," he said in the Daily Mirror.

"It was really not a good day for me or the club or the fans. It was the worst day of the season."

  2. dark knight, your right i think we can still cover, but­ losing bassong will hurt. huddlestone has never been­ good at centre back, corluka gets destroyed there...­ are best bet would be corluka, dawson, king, ekotto. if­ king can't go and woody is still not back then its­ gonna be a long game day....

    Ye made a­ mistake by not adding Givens penalty, but at least ye­ corrected your error today.
    Now give Collison his 2­ assists, wtf its not rocket science.
    Also Mears should­ have an assist for being taken down in the box, to set­ up alexanders penalty goal. The premier league awarded­ him an assist why havn't ye?

  4. im a spurs fan and all i keep hearing that spurs will­ break in the top four, what i watched on saturday is­ that we are well behind the top four, we were given a­ lesson in football and make it worse its the arsenal­ that done it, i do believe we have improved under­ redknapp, but stop saying we will break into the top­ four because im sick of hearing it, just play football­ and see where we end up at the end of the season, take­ one game at the time
