Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is confident new signing Bondz N'Gala will make an impact at Glanford Park.

The 20-year-old central defender has joined the Iron on a one-month loan deal and will provide cover for Rob Jones, who is currently sidelined through injury.

Adkins said: "He is a young hungry centre-half who has a great presence about himself. He is in and around the first team squad at West Ham and is a player we have been aware of for some time.

"He is joining us initially for a month.

"We have been decimated at back with injures and players carrying knocks, and I want to give us situation where we can deal with that."
