Burton boss Paul Peschisolido hopes on-loan goalkeeper Artur Krysiak will accept a permanent move to the League Two club.
The giant Pole is on loan at the Pirelli Stadium from Birmingham until January, and the two clubs have agreed a deal for Krysiak to make the switch permanent in the new year.
Peschisolido will now try to thrash out a deal with the player this week.
He told the Derby Telegraph: "We have agreed a deal with Birmingham to bring Artur to Burton. Now it's down to personal terms and, hopefully, we can do something.
"It's not a done deal yet, but we are going to sit down with Artur this week and, hopefully, we can prise him away from Birmingham."
