Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock praised recalled midfielder Yoann Folly for his part in the Pilgrims' 1-0 Championship win at Middlesbrough.

Paris-born Folly, 24, made his first Championship start for Argyle since January, helping the third-from-bottom Greens to their second away win of the season.

Sturrock said: "I've always known there is a footballer in Yoann but he has not shown it on a regular occurrence.

"I think he has proved to me in training and reserve games that he merited a chance so I took a chance on him and thought he was excellent."
