Carlisle defender Zigor Aranalde believes the fighting spirit shown within the squad over the festive period is a good sign for the future.The Blues had lost their previous two games against Tranmere and Bristol Rovers without scoring but twice came from behind to secure a 4-2 win against Hartlepool on New Year's Day.

And Aranalde believes that to come back from two losses and seal a difficult win says a lot about the spirit within the club.

"Any win is important, but perhaps even more so when you consider the last two games and the way in which we lost them," he told the club's official website.

"When you lose in the way we did, and everything is going against you, then sometimes you have to stand up and be counted."
