Jones extends Cobblers stay

Thu 03 Jan, 11:16 AM

Northampton have extended the loan spell of Wolves defender Daniel Jones for a fourth month, much to the delight of Cobblers boss Stuart Gray. The 21-year-old left-back has been on loan at Sixfields since the summer, and although that period expired after the New Year's Day game with Millwall, the two clubs have now agreed an extension.

Gray said: "We are delighted that Daniel will be staying here and I would like to thank Mick McCarthy for his help.

"I am sure this will benefit all concerned. Daniel has been gaining experience and has done very well for us and I know he has been enjoying his football. We are very pleased he will be here for a while longer."

Jones will miss the game at Leeds on Saturday through suspension, but will be available to face Hartlepool United a week on Saturday.
