Wrexham midfielder Conall Murtagh has set his sights on an immediate return to action after suffering a sickening injury on his league debut.Murtagh lasted just 29 minutes after a challenge with Chesterfield defender Janos Kovacs left him requiring nine stitches in a cut over his right eye.
Murtagh, who has just recovered from a thigh muscle tear, told the club's official website: "I wanted to play on. I honestly don't know what happened. I was ready to go for the ball and the next thing I am on the ground with people staring down at me.
"It was great to be given my league debut and I was starting to enjoy myself, so it was a great pity that I had to leave the game.
"I just hope that I get over this quickly and can get back into the side soon."
