Shrewsbury have completed the £50,000 signing of Macclesfield's Kevin McIntyre but failed in a bid to land Bristol Rovers' Richard Walker.McIntyre has signed for the Shrews on a two-and-a-half year contract and the midfielder will be a direct replacement for Stuart Drummond who departed to Morecambe on Thursday.
Shrews chief Gary Peters told the club's official website: "Kevin is a tough tackling midfield player, left-footed and has been the corner, free-kick and penalty taken at most places he's been.
"He can play in a number of positions but I like him as a central midfielder where his tenacity, hard work and sweet left foot will make us a tougher side."
Meanwhile Peters has confirmed the club have failed in their attempt to sign Bristol Rovers striker Walker.
"I thought we had achieved that but Richard still wants to stay at Bristol Rovers and see if he can get into the side." he added.
