Sinnott fumes at Vale defeat

Thu 03 Jan, 11:15 AM

Lee Sinnott admitted it felt like "Groundhog Day" as his Port Vale side went down 1-0 at Cheltenham, leaving them close to the drop-zone.Robins striker Paul Connor smashed the only goal of the game in the first half to condemn Vale to their third defeat in four games.

Sinnott, however, is remaining defiant over Vale's chances of beating the drop from League One.

He said: "You have to keep believing and believe that things will change. Getting the right personnel on the pitch is going to be vital for the rest of the Port Vale season.

"It is a bit like Groundhog Day. When you lose three players on the morning of the game, end up with an 18-year-old centre-half playing centre-forward and then their keeper makes three wonderful saves.

"I have been here for 10 games now and I am extremely frustrated. We shouldn't have lost it, their winning goal came from our corner and that's why it's so frustrating. We are playing games and points are passing us by."
