Geraint Williams is resigned to shopping in the bargain basement compared to many of his rivals as he tries to strengthen Colchester's squad.Williams wants six players to boost his relegation battlers but has already seen moneybags QPR snap up two of his targets in Matthew Connolly - who was on loan at Layer Road this season - and Hogan Ephraim.
"We are looking to strengthen because we are letting in too many goals," said Williams.
"But we have a budget and some clubs will have more, so we are shopping in different places. But we want competition for places."
