Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Wood has returned to full training and hopes to be back in first-team action by the end of the month. The 22-year-old central defender has been sidelined since October when he dislocated his shoulder in the 2-1 home defeat to Scunthorpe.
Wood's loss was a major blow to Owls manager Brian Laws, who drafted in Derby's Michael Johnson on loan as cover.
Johnson has returned to Pride Park, but Wood has targeted a reserve-team match against Lincoln on January 8 for his comeback.
Winger Wade Small is also close to a return after missing the last two matches due to a hamstring strain, but will not be ready for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Derby.
