Macclesfield manager Ian Brightwell has urged his players to remain positive after they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Bradford.Jonny Brain fluffed a simple clearance from a long punt forward from Kyle Nix 15 minutes from time to present Bradford's David Brown with an open goal on his debut - and he made no mistake.
Bantams keeper Scott Loach then showed Brain how it should be done by saving Terry Dunfield's penalty and blocking Neil Ashton's rebound after Danny Thomas was brought down by Joe Colbeck.
Brightwell said: "At the attacking end we created plenty of chances but didn't score while at the defensive end we made one mistake and that cost us the game.
"It was a bad mistake from Jonny Brain, but you can't blame him because in the last three or four games he's been excellent and kept us in those matches.
"But I've told the players to keep their heads up and stay positive because we are at least creating enough chances."
