Harford on the warpath at Luton

Sun 03 Feb, 04:00 PM

Luton manager Mick Harford hit out at the way the club has been run after seeing their on-field troubles deepen with a 4-0 loss at Hartlepool.Richard Barker opened the scoring with a penalty and then rounded it off with the fourth after goals from Alan Thompson and Joel Porter.

The scoreline could have been much worse if not for a fine performance from goalkeeper Dean Brill and Harford admitted his players were down after the loss.

He said: "I've got a lot to say about the way this club has been run over the last two years, but that will come out next week.

"The club is in a crisis, and it showed out on the pitch. It's difficult when you only have one centre-half at the club - the ball just keeps coming back at you and you are always under pressure.

"The players are very down in the dressing room, and you can't blame them. Clearly we are in desperate straits, and we need a massive improvement if we are going to get out of trouble. But we must keep battling away and hope to turn the corner."
