Wycombe boss Paul Lambert hailed the signing of Neil Lennon as his side boosted their promotion push with a comfortable 2-0 win at Accrington.Wycombe took the lead after 13 minutes when Sergio Torres fed top-scorer Scott McGleish and he fired home his 18th goal of the campaign.
Then a defensive mix-up led to Leon Knight slotting into the empty net.
"I know Neil and he doesn't like getting beat and he wants to win everything," said Lambert.
"I have chased him since the summer and pursued him. I was surprised that Nottingham Forest would let him go but he is top class and he has played at the highest level.
"I thought he was absolutely brilliant in his first 90 minutes. The win puts us well in the promotion frame - we want automatic promotion."
