Richardson frustrated after draw

Sun 03 Feb, 04:47 PM

Manager Lee Richardson admits Janos Kovacs was fortunate not to be dismissed and that Chesterfield had again come up short against Chester.Jack Lester scored his 23rd goal of the season in the 54th minute, converting Jamie Ward's pass from close-range.

But five minutes later, John Murphy turned on the edge of the six-yard area to score Chester's first goal since January 5.

Richardson said: "It is extremely frustrating because we are again talking about dropped points against teams that come to defend in numbers which they are entitled to do.

"It was a very poor game, but we got a goal to get ourselves in front and then we couldn't hold on and make it a boring 1-0 victory. Within minutes we had conceded and that is very disappointing."
