Sheridan rues missed point

Sun 03 Feb, 05:15 PM

Oldham manager John Sheridan was unhappy after missing out on at least a point as Swansea grabbed a 2-1 win at the Liberty Stadium. After a first-half stalemate, Swansea took the lead when Latics midfielder Gary McDonald sliced the ball into his own net but the visitors drew level with a penalty from Welsh international Craig Davies.

However, Febian Brandy popped up to rifle home the winner late on.

"It was a hard game as we expected but overall we did well as we stopped them from playing," said Sheridan.

"They were a bit lucky with their winner as the ball was deflected to their player but we were a little slow in clearing our lines.

"I would have been delighted with a point but that's the way it goes sometimes and now we have to concentrate on our next game."
